There are many types of carpentry tools, which can be classified by power source into manual tools, electric tools, and pneumatic tools; by function, they can be divided into measuring tools, cutting tools, sanding tools, fastening tools, etc.
Ink Line
Consists of four parts: ink container, line reel, ink line (including line cone), and ink mark.
The ink container holds the ink material (such as silk or sponge), the ink line passes through a fine hole, and the line cone can be used for fixing or as a plumb bob.
Materials vary: camphor wood, ebony, bamboo, copper, horn, etc., and the shapes often carry auspicious meanings (such as fish or dragon shapes).
Carpenter's Saw
Mainly composed of saw blade and handle.
The tooth shape and size are adjusted according to the purpose (e.g., coarse teeth for fast cutting, fine teeth for precise cutting).
Mortise and Tenon Structure (not a tool but a core woodworking technique)
Achieves connection through the fitting of protruding and recessing parts of the wood, without needing nails or glue.
Features include structural stability, shock resistance, disassembly capability, and no damage to wood fibers.
Common types include: dovetail tenon, corner tenon, clip tenon, wedge tenon, and buckle tenon.
Structural Features of Modern Electric Woodworking Tools
Electric Planer
Divided into direct drive (planer blade mounted on motor shaft) and indirect drive (blade shaft driven via nylon belt).
Equipped with dual insulation casing, and planer depth adjustment mechanism (adjustable front sole, maximum depth about 2mm).
The blade chamber has a chip discharge chamber, using a fan to expel wood chips.
Jigsaw (Electric Saber Saw)
Uses a narrow blade with up-and-down reciprocating motion.
Teeth are designed facing upwards, suitable for cutting curves and complex contours.
Can be used with a guide plate for angled processing.
Electric Circular Saw
Equipped with a spring-loaded automatic safety guard and an electronic constant-speed motor.
Suitable for cutting wooden boards under 60mm thickness, offering flexible operation and quick adjustments.
Mortising Machine (including CNC type)
Integrates high-speed motor, servo system, guide rail screw, and alloy milling cutter.
Supports automatic feeding, positioning, mortising, and cutting in one process.
Maximum processing size can reach 140×80mm, spindle speed 9000 r/min.
Wood Drill Bit
The tip has a conical guide thread (front thread), allowing automatic feeding without pressure.
Equipped with scoring cutting edge (prong) and spiral chip flute.
Specifically designed for wood, different from metal or concrete drill bits.
